A coal-fired power station commissioned Eurocon Industriservice to replace about 48,000 spiral electrodes in an electrostatic precipitator. The work was carried out during a 3-week refurbishing period. The limited space between the electroplating made it very difficult to install the electrodes manually. Furthermore, manual installation of the electrodes would involve a huge risk of pulling the electrodes further up than specified, and this would result in too slack electrodes. In order to carry out the job, we therefore developed a device that allowed us to install the electrodes in a very narrow space – the device also ensures that they are pulled exactly the specified distance.
